Moment Lab

Hi and thank you for visiting! Please contact me about coaching and consulting, or to schedule a workshop for your company or university.

My career as a performer, writer, and director runs in tandem with my work in collaboration with individual artists, ensembles, students. A wide range of experiences and interests across mediums and genres and a passionate study of the craft of storytelling infuse my work with performers, writers, and directors.

This work also translates into workshops for non-actors, focusing on storytelling, creative enlivenment, audience connection, and empathy-building.

Classes/workshops/panels

  • I teach performance and writing workshops throughout the country and internationally, including at: NYU Tisch School of the Arts; The Atlantic Acting School; London’s Central Film School; Brooklyn College; Boston University; The Austin Film Festival; Williamstown Theatre Festival; OnTime Productions-Mexico City; Brave Studios-Melbourne, Australia; Hollins University M.F.A. Dance Residency-Berlin, Germany; Roadmap Writers; IFC Center; New York Public Library for the Performing Arts; The Susan Marshall Dance Company; and Improv Olympic West

Story Development for Writers and Directors

  • I work with screenwriters, playwrights, and solo performers in all stages of their project’s development, from pitch to post, helping them clarify their vision as they translate it from brain to page, or from page to stage or screen. My mission is to help unlock a story’s greatest potential through crystalizing ideas, honing the script’s core values, dramaturgical research, world-building, organizing narrative, and sharpening scenes and story beats.

  • I consult with film, television and theater directors in preparation for production--through beat-by-beat script analysis, dramaturgical conversations, casting support, formulating rehearsal plans, and building a unique and specific director vocabulary and creative toolbox for leading the cast and crew through all the wild unknowns on set.

Actor Coaching

  • Stage and on-camera audition prep

  • College audition prep

  • Ongoing training for working actors. I help actors to prepare confidently and experience depth and specificity in their choices, so that they can perform with freedom and spontaneity inside a clear story. Emphasis on practical technique, script analysis, and moment work.

Consulting

  • Performance coaching, script writing, and workshops that help companies and individuals clearly communicate their ideas in a high-stakes environment.

  • I have worked with staff at Google, ESPN the Magazine, Johnson & Johnson, the U.S. Department of State, as well as with pharmaceutical companies, app creators, prizefighters, journalists, union representatives, and beyond.

She has brought Moment Lab abroad to Brave Studios in Melbourne, Australia, and On Time Productions in Mexico City. She has directed many NYU/Tisch and Conservatory student productions, and is an Acting Evaluator for NYU Tisch Admissions.
